Fox 13 Salt Lake City (30 Mar 2015): Judge decides 3 separate cases for former teacher accused of having sex with students A judge decided Monday that Brianne Altice, a former teacher at Davis High School facing more than a dozen felony charges for sex with her students, will have separate trials for the three cases against her. Prosecutors wanted to bundle all three cases into one trial, however, doing so might prejudice the jury and wouldn't be fair to the defendant. A scheduling conference is set for April 9 when trial dates for the three cases will be decided.

July 9, 2015 Brianne Altice sentenced for sex with students... FARMINGTON, Utah — A former Davis High School teacher convicted of having sex with three students has been sentenced to serve up to 30 years in prison. Judge Kay sentenced Altice to serve 1-to-15 years in prison for each count of forcible sex abuse. He ordered two of those charges to be served consecutively, meaning she will serve up to 30 years. Altice was given credit for time behind bars and ordered to undergo sex offender treatment. Handing down sentence, Judge Kay questioned if she was truly remorseful. “I don’t know if you are taking responsibility,” he said. “I also wonder if you’re in denial about what you’ve done?” http://fox13now.com/2015/07/09/brianne-altice-sentenced-for-sex-with-students/
Oh By The Way... FARMINGTON, Utah (AP) — A Utah judge tossed out a lawsuit Thursday claiming a school district didn't do enough to protect students from a female teacher who sexually abused three male students. Judge John Morris said he was ruling in line with a Utah law that protects schools from liability when students are assaulted. Lindy Hamilton, a lawyer for one of the students, said she plans to appeal the decision. Hamilton argued that the school should have known that 36-year-old Brianne Altice had lost a job due to alleged sexual misconduct before she was hired. Altice is serving at least two and up to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexual abuse charges in a plea deal stemming from allegations that she had sex with 16-and-17-year-old students. At her sentencing, she said she was emotionally damaged and made mistakes by giving into her teenage students' advances. The lawsuit seeking at least $674,000 in damages claims school administrators didn't do enough in response to signs of her sexual misconduct that included photos of her having a picnic with one of the victims that were anonymously sent in 2013 to the principal at Davis High School. http://news.yahoo.com/judge-tosses-lawsuit-against-school-teacher-sex-case-192807213.html
