Walter Sologaistoa, 44, of Kenner, known as "Coach Solo" to some of his students, was booked Wednesday (Aug. 27) with carnal knowledge of a juvenile, computer-aided solicitation of a minor, possession of pornography involving a juvenile, indecent behavior with a juvenile and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, said Col. John Fortunato, spokesman for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office. The girl was a "former student" at the Metairie high school, Fortunato said, though it's not clear when she left. Investigators found sexually explicit photos of the student on Sologaistoa's cell phone. The photos were taken when the girl was between the ages of 13 and 15, Fortunato said. Sheriff's Office investigators first arrested Sologaistoa on May 29, 2013, and booked him with two counts of possession of child pornography following investigations by the department and the state Attorney General's Office. Walter Sologaistoa, 43, of Kenner was taken into custody May 29 by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office, according to an arrest report. Sologaistoa was arrested at his home, 69 Brittany Drive, the report said. He was released May 30 from the parish jail in Gretna on a $25,000 bond. But Sologaistoa was then arrested by the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office and booked with distributing child pornography, according to records from the East Baton Rouge clerk of court's Office. The Advocate reported that the case was investigated by the Louisiana attorney general's Office.
