The allegations against Corso arose on Christmas day when a 4-year-old boy that Corso had been babysitting exhibited some abnormal behavior and made odd comments about his genitals to his mother, according to an affidavit. The incident was reported to the Department of Children and Families, and the agency informed Westport Police of the incident. Detectives worked with DCF to interview the boy, and investigators learned that Corso had molested the boy on Dec. 16, court documents show. Corso, who had been friends with the boy's family for about 12 years, often babysat the boy and when the boy slept over his house on Dec. 16, Corso took a bath with the boy, the affidavit alleges. At another point during the sleepover, Corso was also lying on his bed, wearing nothing but a T-shirt, and he allowed the boy to touch him inappropriately, according to the affidavit.Tags:

Corso, a 67-year-old Westport resident with a doctorate in chemical engineering, was at that point a non-tenured employee of the Norwalk Public Schools teaching advanced placement chemistry and astronomy. During the 2007-08 school year, Corso received a number of negative reviews, including ones rating him as "basic," the second notch from the bottom on a four-point scale.
