Band teacher accused of child porn Fresno County sheriff’s deputies say a 25-year-old Riverdale band teacher who allegedly filmed students while they undressed in a school classroom was arrested on suspicion of several counts of producing and possessing child pornography. A statement said the investigation against Steven Christopher Montes of Visalia started around 10:45 a.m. Friday after school officials from Riverdale High School alerted the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office of a teacher who had reportedly been filming students while they disrobed. A female student reportedly notified school officials about the allegation after finding a recording device in a classroom that she was changing in. Deputies and agents seized several computers from Montes' home and at Visalia's Christ Lutheran Church, where he worked at as an audio and visual technician. According to a criminal complaint, he has admitted to having a lifelong problem. At this point, Montes is facing three counts of producing child pornography. The mandatory minimum punishment is 15 years in prison. What he confessed to detectives has only added to his problems. California band teacher accused of recording girls A federal grand jury indicted 25-year-old Steven Christopher Montes on three counts of sexual exploitation of minors on Thursday. Authorities say Montes, who taught at Riverdale High School in Fresno County, filmed three girls - two aged 17, and the other 14.
