A PRIMARY teacher has appeared in court accused of making and possessing indecent photographs of a child. Simon Goodwin Williams, aged 43, appeared before Neath magistrates accused of 15 charges in total. All are alleged to have happened between November 10 last year and January 6 this year. It is understood he was a teacher at Gendros Primary School in Swansea, however, it is believed he is no longer working there.

Computer expert Mr Evans said that on analysing the defendant’s computer he was able to determine websites had been visited whose names suggested they might contain pornographic images of children. Under cross-examination from Tim Evans, defending, he accepted no attempts appeared to have been made to save any of the images. Mr Davis said the defendant told police he used his computer to view adult pornography without his wife’s knowledge and on occasions had clicked onto a site which had then taken him to see abusive pictures of children which “popped up” on his screen. But Mr Davis told the jury: “The prosecution say the images were there because he searched for indecent images.”

A SWANSEA primary school teacher said he was horrified when child pornography sites suddenly "popped up" on his computer screen while he secretly watched adult pornography at his home. Simon Goodwin Williams claimed he always immediately "clicked off" this child pornography as he was not interested in it ... He said sometimes "links" would take him to sites of child indecency and on these occasions he would "just click on the cross at the top to get rid of it." For legal reasons the judge directed the jury to find Williams not guilty of "possessing" 113 indecent images on January 6.

A former teacher accused of making more than 100 indecent images of children taught the rugby and football teams at his primary school, a court has heard. Simon Williams, 45, of Bracken Road, Neath, denies 13 counts of making indecent images of children, involving 112 images in total. He appeared in the dock yesterday on the second day of his trial at Swansea Crown Court.
