Clarksburg teacher arrested for allegedly stealing student's meds

At the request of the principal, deputies responded to Delta Charter Tuesday after the school learned that a student's prescription medicine had come up short, Cecchettini said in a statement. The pills were kept in a locked cabinet at the school, which was under video surveillance. Sheriff's officials did not specify what the medication was. "On Wednesday afternoon deputies were notified by the school that they had located suspicious activity in the footage they reviewed," Cecchettini said. "A deputy responded and reviewed the footage, dated April 28, 2014. It showed [Sheri Laverne] Haselhuhn removing the medication and ingesting it."

The Yolo County Sheriff's Department investigated reports made by the school's principal that a student's medication had come up short. The bottle of pills was kept in a locked cabinet on the school grounds. The room was also under video surveillance. A deputy reviewed the footage, dated April 28. West Sacramento teacher accused of taking student's prescribed medication

Delta Charter School in Clarksburg contacted the Yolo County Sheriff's Department Tuesday after learning the medication which was kept in a locked cabinet had come up short, sheriff's Capt. Larry Cecchettini said. By the next day, the school had looked at video from a surveillance camera trained on the room and and it showed teacher Sheri Laverne Haselhuhn removing the medicine and ingesting it, Cecchettini said. Deputies arrested Haselhuhn, 40, on suspicion of burglary and possession of a control substance as she arrived at her West Sacramento home Wednesday night.

The preliminary hearing for a Clarksburg teacher arrested for allegedly stealing a student's prescription medication has been set for June. Sheri Haselhuhn, 40, faces burglary and possession charges for removing a student's prescription medication from a locked cabinet on school grounds, and subsequently ingesting it. Heselhuhn was arraigned on Monday, where Yolo County Court Commissioner Janene Beronio scheduled a preliminary hearing for 10 a.m. on July 21 in Department 6.
