The Reporter: Vacaville High teacher will resign as part of plea deal (Mar 7 2014) A Vacaville teacher [Rodney Orosco] accused of sending thousands of text messages to a student accepted a plea deal in Solano County Superior Court on Thursday that will require him to resign from his job as a high school English teacher ... On Thursday, Orosco's defense counsel, Sacramento attorney Jon-Paul Valcarenghi, announced that a plea agreement had been worked out with prosecutors. Orosco was not present at the hearing, but prosecutors indicated that Orosco agreed to plead no contest to two misdemeanor charges of child endangerment and harassing telephone contact. The misdemeanor charge of annoying or molesting a child under 18 was dismissed. The plea agreement will require Orosco to resign from his job with Vacaville Unified School District and permanently surrender his teaching credential. He would also be subject to four years of probation and be required to pay an undetermined amount in restitution.
