  1. The apple does not fall far from the tree in this case. Authorities shouldn't stop with just Richard III.

I know you cant imagine him doing this, that is because it is foreign to most of us,thank God. However, if your son some years from now had the courage to tell you (God forbid) that this teacher or anyone else had done this to him, would you believe him?? My point is whomever is in your life is likely to be the one you support. If you knew the young men accusing him, AND the accused you may lean towards the accusers.

I agree, that person needs to seek professional help.

  6. The truth is no one really knows someone. In life we are taught not to trust people and yet when we become adults we trust until it is broken. My sister and I were students at walhalla middle and high during the years mr. Gardner is being accused. Every student who is grown now in our late twenties realizes and remembers the inappropriate behavior that occurred with young boys in class with trey Gardner and outside of class. The students trey preyed on we're boys from broken homes who didn't have parents to watch over them. He would shower them with gifts to gain their trust. Then he would take them to sporting events and other activities to make them feel special and cared for. Remember we are talking about boys between the ages of 12 and 14. No boy at that age is going to tell anyone just based of shame and feeling guilty its their fault. Once he gained their trust the abuse started and bc they didn't want the gifts and fun taking away the boys were left to deal with what was happening to them. Sometimes in life the most dangerous people are the ones that live a normal, loving, god fearing life. It's a show to cover up the devil that lives inside of them. Trey Gardner is 100 percent guilty and now that this has come out everyone including his old colleagues can look back and see the warning signs. Treys inappropriate behavior was brought to the attention of the school district during 98-03 they choose to turn their heads since trey was a big community leader. I pray for treys family, but most of all i pray for the victims who lives are forever changed. And for why they waited so long it wasn't for money or greed it was bc they could finally face the truth, they weren't afraid no more, and it was time to put a stop to trey Gardner and make sure it doesn't happen to any more young boys. Thank god for the bravery it took to come forward and put a sick individual in his proper place. For those who do not find his behavior inappropriate with young boys here are some clues: it is not normal for a grown man to build a relationship with young boys outside of school, it is inappropriate for young boys to stay the night at his home, it is inappropriate to spend more time with young boys then your own family, and last it is inappropriate for a grown man to break his professional code of conduct for any young boy. Trey Gardner is a predator to young boys and needs to be put away and I feel sorry for any mom that trusted trey with their young boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know this is old but I feel compelled to respond. The FACT is that the "victim" was someone who moved away from Walhalla WITH the Gardners years ago. He BEGGED to go with them. They took him into their home and treated him like their own. He went on to get into trouble all by himself and finally did time in jail for attempted murder. When he called the Gardners for money, several thousand dollars, they refused. As soon as he got out of jail, this happened.

Smells funny, huh. This is the vengeful act of a spiteful kid, nothing else. I can't believe it's gotten this far, on nothing but his word. Oh, and he already admitted he lied about one count. The other "victim" is his brother. This is all ridiculous. Shame on all of you who are so quick and ready to believe the worst. But of course, it's more interesting that way, isn't it?

Laura, I hope you are there Thursday, so you can tell us all the outcome afterwards. The victim you are referring to never begged to go with them. He was taken to make sure the secret was kept. And research some, he was never arrested for attempted murder; that is public information. I'm excited to see who smiles in victory and who hangs their head in shame. The Bible reads that "every man shall bear his own burden." The Lord is just; he will not let Gardner's deed go unpunished.

  9. If he was innocent, why did he plead guilty?
