The affidavit describes at least four victims in Majors’ criminal case; all girls ages 15 to 17 when the crimes allegedly happened. According to the affidavit, Majors came under Fruita police scrutiny after the mother of a 16-year-old girl reported Nov. 1 finding private Facebook messages between her daughter and the teacher. The girl’s mother said Majors and her daughter were “friends” on Facebook and they’d sent messages back and forth for the past year about tennis.​

A Facebook conversation on Oct. 22 around 11 p.m., caught the mother’s attention. The affidavit gives this summary:​

“Majors gave (girl) his cellphone number and asked her to do ‘ONE ACT OF EPIC (expletive) ... COMMON ON.” He then asked her if she would do what he asked and if she was in ‘the circle of trust.’ She asked him how she got into the circle of trust and if she was going to be paddled to which he replied, ‘ssort (sic) of ... maybe.’ He told her he ‘loves the way she dresses’ and asked if he could be ‘straight up and not get in trouble’...‘YOU SURE NO ONE READS YOUR STUFF’. He said he was nervous and asked if she was ready and if she would get ‘(expletive deleted).’ She said she wouldn’t and he wrote, “I am dying to see your boobs ... there it is.” The girl replied, “OMG.” He apologized. She asked him, “But really? Was there any way that was going to work in your favor?” He replied, “sometimes ... but no probably not…you are right ok?”​

On Nov. 2, Fruita police turned up at his home and seized Majors’ computer, the affidavit said. “We spoke with Majors on his front porch and he admitted he had asked a couple of girls for pictures of their ‘boobs,’ ” the affidavit said.​

The affidavit includes excerpts of private Facebook messages with several other girls.​

• “I want to see your boobs,” Majors allegedly asked a 17-year-old girl on Oct. 7. When she didn’t respond, Majors on Oct. 8 sent more messages, again asking for a photo while giving her his cellphone number, the affidavit said. The 17-year-old never responded. She later told a police investigator “she also didn’t say anything because she didn’t want to get him into trouble,” the affidavit said.
• Police found more Facebook messages with a 15-year-old girl, one of them dated Aug. 8. “Majors told her he had some questions for her, asked if the questions could remain between the two of them and later made her promise she wouldn’t tell anybody, ‘cause I could get fired and arrested,’ the affidavit said. “He told her, ‘no, I just think you are really fine.’ “

The affidavit says Majors continued to seek photos of girls, despite his awareness of the Fruita police investigation and after an investigator had seized his laptop computer Nov. 2 and questioned him on the matter that same day.

• In a message exchange with a 17-year-old girl on Nov. 9, which lasted more than five hours, Majors allegedly found one girl willing to send him a photo. “(Girl) is wearing a tank top and you can see a small amount of cleavage in the picture,” an investigator wrote.
• On Nov. 7, he sent another request to one of the girls, “Pics? Don’t hate.” “She told him ‘no’ and ‘majors this is inappropriate behavior and you need to stop right now,” the affidavit said. “She also told him it was ‘not ok’ to which he replied, “Ok ok sorry ... Didn’t realize.” She replied, “How did you not realize that this is not ok. I am 15 years old.”
• That same night, Majors allegedly sent another message to a former student; a girl who’s now a college student. When she asked how he was doing, he replied, “Well ... Not great, I’m in a bit of troublre (sic), I drink too much, I’m in trouble.”

The Fruita police investigator handling the case concluded Majors was grooming young girls, complimenting them in numerous ways while repeatedly referring to a “circle of trust.” “A forensic exam was done on Majors’ computer,” the affidavit said. “Some of the images found were identified as his current or former students or members of his tennis teams. We did not find any nude pictures that could be identified as underage females on his computer ...”

The Fruita 8/9 teacher arrested Tuesday for sending inappropriate messages to underage girls has bonded out of jail. 58 year old Randy Majors was placed on administrative leave in November when an investigation was launched into his relationships. District 51 officials say he is still on leave and based on the allegations the situation could be grounds for termination.​

Police began investigating in November after a mother told police she found a Facebook message from the teacher asking her 16-year-old daughter to send nude pictures without telling anyone. Shortly afterward, Majors turned over his laptop to Fruita police, according to an arrest warrant affidavit. He also acknowledged asking several girls for pictures, the warrant said. The affidavit by Fruita Police Officer Lisa Dicamillo identifies eight teenage girls who exchanged messages with Majors, including a 17-year-old who sent a picture of herself wearing a tank top.​

Majors’ messages included asking some of the girls if they were in “the circle of trust” and whether they could keep a secret. Dicamillo said in the affidavit that Majors wrote to the 16-year-old girl that he was “dying” to see her breasts. The girl’s mother went to the police.​

Majors sent one girl multiple requests, asking for “one pic between friends.” At first she didn’t respond, then told him she was doing homework, according to the affidavit. The girl later told authorities she didn’t say anything about the exchange because she didn’t want to get Majors in trouble.​

​

Another 16-year-old girl said she’d send him a picture of her face, and he responded that he wasn’t interested in a face picture, Dicamillo wrote.​

A 15-year-old girl wrote, “this is inappropriate behavior. And you need to stop right now.”​

​

Majors continued to ask for topless photos days after police took his computer and questioned him about the allegations, the warrant said.​
