Holmes Staffer Ordered to Stay Away from School, Case Not Part of Federal Investigation

    20 Aug 2014

An employee at Holmes Middle School appeared in Kenton County District Court on Wednesday morning, accused of trafficking in ten or more dosage units of opiates. The River City News has learned that the charge involves the alleged trafficking of pain pills.

    ...

Sanders said that Tyus's arrest resulted from a separate discovery during the federal investigation. "A federal investigation uncovered evidence he was trafficking pills but he's not part of the ring the DEA is after so he will be prosecuted on state charges," the prosecutor said. Investigators opted to arrest Tyus at the school because they knew they could find him there, but his alleged trafficking is not related to the school or its students, Sanders said.
