A YPD officer reported that he found Rektor’s IP address, which is a number that helps identify a computer when it logs on to the internet. The report says the officer then logged onto a file-sharing network and that Rektor shared child pornography with him. The officer communicated with Time Warner Cable, which told him to whom the IP address belonged. Former Youngstown teacher facing child porn charges On Tuesday afternoon, Youngstown Police, agents from the FBI, the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Mahoning Valley Violent Crimes Task Force executed a search warrant at Rektor's Hollywood Avenue home. Officer Kelly Jankowski, working as an undercover investigator for the Youngstown Family Services Unit, says Rektor shared child pornography files from a computer. Using an undercover computer program and a subpoena served on Time Warner cable, Jankowski traced the source of the files to a computer owned by Rektor's wife at the Hollywood Avenue address. During the search of the home, BCI Special Agent John Rodriguez asked Paul Rector if he knew that agents were there for child pornography on the computers, he responded, “Yes”. Rector also said that he is the only one who uses the computers, and that his wife did not know what he is downloading.
