    19-year Akron Police Dept. vet charged in crash that left wife seriously injured


    Akron police Sgt. Vince Yurick has been charged in connection with a crash that seriously injured his wife. Yurick was charged with aggravated vehicular assault, operating a vehicle while impaired, operating a vehicle while impaired with an illegal alcohol limit, reckless operation, failure to control, and speed. Yurick lost control of his 2008 Ford Shelby GT500 earlier this month and struck a tree near 2191 Canterbury Circle. He and his wife were both taken to Akron City Hospital. His wife was seriously injured in the accident, and at one point was listed in critical condition at the hospital. Speed and ...
