19-year Akron Police Dept. vet charged in crash that left wife seriously injured

Akron police Sgt. Vince Yurick has been charged in connection with a crash that seriously injured his wife. Yurick was charged with aggravated vehicular assault, operating a vehicle while impaired, operating a vehicle while impaired with an illegal alcohol limit, reckless operation, failure to control, and speed. Yurick lost control of his 2008 Ford Shelby GT500 earlier this month and struck a tree near 2191 Canterbury Circle. He and his wife were both taken to Akron City Hospital.
