Nora Martinez was arrested Monday night. The 30-year-old is charged with indecency with a child and improper relationship between an educator and student. She's been an 8th grade math teacher at Stevenson Middle School for 7 years. The alleged victim is not her student but did attend the school. The 13-year-old girl's father reportedly found out about the alleged relationship through text messages sent to the child from Martinez.

Investigators said the allegations surfaced after the parents of a 13-year-old intercepted a text message sent to their daughter's cell phone by Martinez.. The parents reported the matter to police and NISD officials Monday. "You're an awesome girlfriend," one text allegedly said in part. Other text messages reportedly suggested the math instructor wanted to run away with the student and get married.

Gonzalez said Martinez is accused of improper conduct and touching an eighth-grader who was not one of her students. The improper touching and conduct is alleged to have occurred on school grounds, he said. Gonzalez said Martinez resigned immediately after the questioning and was “arrested on the spot.”

School district spokesman Pascual Gonzalez said a 13-year-old girl and her mother filed a complaint Monday with the principal at Stevenson Middle School, claiming Martinez had touched the student inappropriately on at least one occasion recently. "The principal called the teacher to the office and immediately sent the teacher to human resources, which is the protocol that we follow," Gonzalez said.District officials then notified the school district's police department and San Antonio police, who began investigating."The teacher resigned shortly before 11 a.m. (Monday), and she was arrested at the same time," Gonzalez said.

A former math teacher fired in January and charged with having inappropriate sexual contact with an eighth-grade student has been arrested again, accused of continuing the contact. Nora Lynn Martinez, 30, was ordered held without bond in Bexar County Jail. She was arrested Thursday ... As recently as last week, Martinez and the girl would watch each other perform sexual acts upon themselves, the document states. Martinez is now charged with online solicitation of a minor in addition to the original charges of indecency with a child by contact and being an educator having an improper relationship with a student.

My San Antonio said:

A former eighth-grade math teacher at Stevenson Middle School was sentenced to 10 years in prison Wednesday after pleading guilty to improperly touching a female student in her classroom and to engaging in phone sex with the teen even after her initial arrest. Nora Lynn Martinez, 30, agreed to the sentences for online solicitation of a minor and indecency with a child by contact as part of a plea with prosecutors. In addition, she agreed to permanently surrender her teaching certificate and to have no more contact with the student.
