The second link is for the actual news page on this article. I was in jail with this woman and only saw her on occasion because I was not in her pod; as I am not a sex offender, but we talked about her reason for being in jail and she had claimed the victim was much older and that she was also younger herself when it happened; that it wasn't as bad as other people in the same pod with her. Since I was in jail I hadn't actually been able to see the story on the news or internet, but looked into it later. She had said the girl was like 16 or 17 and she was around 20 or 21 when it happened. Long story short, if a person says they are a sex offender but it wasn't that bad as others, look them up. What you'll find, most times, is much worse than what they will tell you happened. It's never okay to engage in sexual acts with minors. Here in Arizona there is a law limiting a two year difference between a young adult and a minor to qualify as a legal relationship, 16 with 18 and 17 with 19, anything over two years difference is sexual misconduct with a minor. So people with sex offenses who lie about the age difference try stick very close to that 2 year difference when they tell their story to people who haven't heard the truth beforehand to avoid a new beating.
