Irvine police said they arrested a 41-year-old woman who works as a school aide on suspicion of lewd contact with a 14-year-old boy. Investigators believe Nicole Ethel McMillen has had "sexual contact or other inappropriate physical contact with the victim on a number of occasions" in the last six weeks, police said in a statement. She was arrested at about 1 a.m. Sunday after the boy's parents contacted authorities.

Nicole Ethel McMillen is employed as a part-time teacher's aide with the Tustin Unified School District, but Irvine police said her employment was not connected to the case. FULLERTON, Calif.—A 43-year-old Orange County mother has been convicted of sexually assaulting two teenagers who visited her home to spend time with her children.
The Orange County district attorney's office says Nicole McMillen of Irvine had an ongoing sexual relationship with a 16-year-old boy for more than a year beginning in 2005.

Los Angeles Times (16 Oct 2013): Irvine mother convicted of sexually assaulting two teenagers

A 43-year-old Irvine mother was convicted Wednesday of sexually assaulting two teenagers who visited her home to spend time with her children.

Nicole Ethel McMillen had an ongoing sexual relationship with a 16-year-old male for more than a year beginning in 2005, according to the Orange County district attorney's office.

Prosecutors said she also had sexual contact with a 14-year-old male on multiple occasions in 2012.
At the time of the incidents, McMillen worked with kindergarten children at Peter's Canyon Elementary School and was a "behavioral interventionist" with the Tustin Unified School District, the district attorney's office said in a statement.

Prosecutors said McMillen had a "fun" home where youths spent time with her children watching movies or playing video games. She was arrested after the 14-year-old told his mother about the incidents.

McMillen is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 14 at the Fullerton courthouse. She faces a maximum sentence of six years and three months in state prison and mandatory lifetime sex offender registration.
