    An Oct. 10 computer hack at Walled Lake schools is still hampering the district's ability to operate, forcing a delay in the return to in-person learning. An international hacking group known as DopplerPaymer appears to be responsible. The group has dumped private teacher and student data onto the dark web, highlighting a sometimes costly vulnerability faced by schools everywhere. The district has confirmed the breach but offered few details on the extent of it. District leaders won't answer questions about the breach or say publicly whether they are facing a ransom demand.
