A teacher of the year at Whitney High School has been accused of molesting a student, and parents are left wondering why they were kept in the dark so long about his arrest. Parents had questions Tuesday about why the Rocklin Unified School District hadn’t said anything about the arrest of Matthew Yamamoto, which happened Monday morning ... The superintendent said they needed legal counsel approval before they could let parents know what happened. Even then, a copy given to CBS13 of the phone message left by Principal Debra Hawkins to parents never mentions Yamamoto by name.

  10. Update On Child Molester High School Teacher Matt Yamamoto Pleads Guilty To 5 Counts On Aug 21, 2103

ROCKLIN MEDIA NEWSFLASH: Matt Yamamoto Sexual Molestation Update: 8-21-2013
NO LONGER SUSPICION IN YAMAMOTO SEXUAL MOLESTATION CASE; NOW GUILTY
Matt Yamamoto otherwise known as “Yam” by some plead “NO CONTEST” or “GUILTY” to Counts 1, 3, 5, and 14, involving 2 “unnamed” victims. The Counts Mr. Yamamoto plead GUILTY to are: Oral Copulation With A Minor [Felony], Sexual Intercourse With A Minor – AKA = Molestation [Felony], Penetration With A Foreign Object With A Minor [Felony], and Obstructing Justice By Contacting A Victim And “Instructing” The Victim To Tell Another Story.
His maximum sentence for said crimes only awards him with a maximum of 5 years – which will be reduced probably to 2 years with some type of alternate sentencing. This is an outrage, and the students and parents of Whitney High ought to be highly concerned about the Rocklin School District that continually leaves parents in the dark.
LET THE TRUTH BE KNOWN. The District Attorney in this case, Stephanie Macumber, is welcoming any of the many more victims that are out there to come forward and your names will be held in confidence.
God forbid you, or one of your friends, ever have to had been in a class with a sexual predator as the teacher. Kids are precious, even in High School, and do not ever need to go through something like this man was doing to the many young people of Whitney High School.
