School district officials said a local teacher and baseball coach was arrested this week, accused of driving under the influence and later resigned his position. Cathy McMillan, spokesperson for Spartanburg County District One Schools, said the district was investigating allegations of drunk driving and a hit-and-run against Matthew McDaniels, 33, who was a teacher and coach at Chapman High School in Inman. McMillan told FOX Carolina that McDaniels was not working at school on Wednesday and that it was very early in their ongoing investigation.
