    Gun threat to Southbridge school was not credible, police say

    A threat by phone to bring a gun to a Southbridge school to bring harm wasn’t credible or immediate, police said in a statement Monday. At about 6 a.m., police said, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs crisis hotline in Westboro received the call, police said. The caller identified himself as Roger and said he was a teacher who planned to bring a gun to school Monday to harm himself and others, according to authorities.     The lack of response after Southbridge student brings gun to school leaves teachers concerned

    Teachers at Southbridge High School are frustrated and worried after learning a student brought a gun to school and there was no lockdown in place. “I have teachers coming up to me saying that their loved ones want them to quit like immediately because they don’t think it’s safe to go to the school,” said Evan Baker, a Spanish Teacher at Southbridge High School.
