    Long Branch 'Breaking Bad' cop accused of making meth to remain in jail after all


    A state appellate judge on Tuesday ordered a veteran Long Branch police officer accused of operating a home meth lab to remain in jail to await trial. The ruling overturns a decision by a trial judge last week to release the defendant, Christopher Walls, 50, a 19-year veteran of the Long Branch Police Department, while his case progresses. Walls is facing a raft of charges, including maintaining or operating a controlled dangerous substance production facility, after authorities responding to a domestic dispute last month said they found a methamphetamine lab in his home.
