    John Hardin High teacher arrested after alleged behavior at basketball game

    The referee requested this person to be escorted from the gym. Officers made contact with the person, later identified as 36-year-old Leslie A. McCurrry of Elizabethtown. McCurry was asked to calm down by officers, who reported that she did not. When advised that she needed to leave the gym, it is reported that she refused. Officers state they gave McCurry these instructions multiple times and that she refused to follow them.

    When an officer attempted to arrest McCurry, the officer reported she refused to comply with the officer's demands. When the officer went to place handcuffs on her, reports indicate she refused to place her arms behind her back and kept pulling away. McCurry was eventually handcuffed and then lodged at the Hardin County Detention Center on charges of criminal trespass, menacing, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

    Hardin County teacher arrested during school basketball game

    But when [Leslie] McCurry's brother, the head basketball coach at John Hardin was ejected from the game, witnesses said McCurry didn't act like the head of the Pep Club or a teacher. "After coach McCurry got his second technical foul, Ms. McCurry became irate with the officials," said Wright. So much so that the game paused as police, normally staffed for big tournament games, came to assist. "As our officials made contact with this person, later identified as Leslie McCurry of E-town, for whatever reason things went from bad to worse," said Virgil Willoughby of the Elizabethtown Police Department.
