The teacher, Kevin Bernard Wright, went into a student's phone, found a nude photo taken when the boy was 14 or 15 years old and forwarded it to his cell phone, the report said. The photo was not only sent to Wrights' phone, but other students and teachers received the photo, as well. Wright, 39, told another teacher he was trying to delete the photo from the victim's phone back in July and sent it as a text by accident, the report said. Teacher-coach arrested on charge of texting student's nude photo

Kevin Bernard Wright, 39, was charged on Sept. 2 with one count of communicating obscene messages to another person without consent, according to Chief Tom Gray of the Wagener Police Department. He was placed in the Aiken County detention center but had been released as of Wednesday afternoon.

The incident happened July 24 at the high school, according to Gray. A 15-year-old male student left his cellphone in the classroom when he exited. “When the student left the classroom, (Wright) opened the student’s telephone and found a nude picture of that student in the phone and attempted to forward that picture to his personal cellphone,” Gray said. “It went out in group text form and the picture went to numerous other people.” One of those numerous recipients was a fellow teacher at the school, according to Gray. That teacher informed the school principal, who conducted her own investigation before notifying Wagener police Aug. 8.​
