    According to a Florida Highway Patrol report the agency's call center began receiving reports just before 4 am in regards to a driver traveling east in the westbound lanes of the Selmon Expressway in the vicinity of North 22nd St. in Tampa. A gold 2001 Saturn would eventually turn southbound in the northbound lanes of Interstate 75. After departing the roadway at the Gibsonton Dr. exit ramp [Kevin Thomas] Smisor was pulled over by a Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputy. The deputy detained the suspect until FHP arrived.     Troopers arrest Chamberlain teacher driving wrong way on I-75

    Kevin Thomas Smisor, 24, a social studies teacher at Chamberlain High School, was booked into the Hillsborough County jail on a misdemeanor driving under the influence charge and, the patrol said, was cited with driving the wrong way on a limited-access roadway.

    On Sunday, the patrol said it received emergency calls at 3:50 a.m. about a wrong-way driver on the expressway near 22nd Street ... Troopers coordinated with sheriff's deputies and began blocking exits along the interstate, patrol spokesman Steve Gaskins said ... A deputy was waiting as Smisor exited I-75 at the northbound Gibsonton Drive entrance ramp, the patrol said. He was detained until troopers arrived and arrested him. Gaskins said Smisor was going the wrong way for "quite a while" — about 12 miles.

    Troopers: Chamberlain High teacher arrested driving wrong-way on I-75

    Kevin Thomas Smisor, 24, was first seen driving a gold 2011 Saturn east in the westbound lanes of the Selmon Expressway near 22nd Street around 3:50 a.m., according to a release from the Florida Highway Patrol. He then turned south into the northbound lanes of I-75, troopers said ... Smisor, who refused to take a breath test, also faces charges of driving the wrong way on a limited access road, troopers said. ...
