    A Glens Falls High School teacher was charged with second-degree harassment for allegedly hitting a 17-year-old female student on the buttocks with a book and asking her to “dance for me,” court records show. Kennon L. Engelmann, 47, of Mechanicville, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to the noncriminal charge in Glens Falls City Court. The charge of second-degree harassment accuses him of “unwanted physical contact” with the teenage girl one day last month.

    A Glens Falls teacher has been arrested after he allegedly had inappropriate contact with a student. 47-year-old-Kennon Engelmann of Mechanicville has been charged with second-degree harassment. He is accused of “unwanted physical contact” with a 17-year-old female student last month.

    Records: Teacher that Glens Falls tried to fire in 2013 still works, but not in regular classroom

    The Glens Falls teacher who the school district unsuccessfully attempted to fire in 2013 because of alleged inappropriate behavior around female students is still on the district’s payroll a decade later — despite not being assigned to a regular classroom. Since the 2014-2015 school year, Kennon Engelmann has been assigned as a social studies teacher at Sanford Street School, according to employment records obtained by The Post-Star through a Freedom of Information Law request.     Arbitrator: Glens Falls teacher deserved third chance

    The teacher that Glens Falls school officials had tried to fire in 2013 for alleged inappropriate behavior around girls was spared from termination because an arbitrator believed he deserved one final chance, according to a copy of the decision obtained by The Post-Star. Kennon Engelmann was charged with a non-criminal violation of harassment for allegations that on Dec. 12, 2012, he had smacked a 17-year-old girl’s buttocks with a school paper and said “dance for me” in a classroom. Engelmann was acquitted in Glens Falls City Court for lack of evidence with the victim declining to testify, although two witnesses ...
