Later, after admitting to Cahill that there had been mutual masturbation and that he had performed fellatio on his accuser, he suggested the same boy was sexually curious or precocious and persistent. He told jurors the only thing he felt he could mitigate was his release prospects. "What I saw was if I didn't try to satisfy him (Cahill) in some way, I was going to go to jail and I was going to stay there until I went to trial."

When his lawyer, Sean May, asked him directly if he ever had sexual contact with his accuser, he answered “certainly not,” and when asked if he’d ever touched the boy for a sexual purpose, he responded “absolutely not.” ... He told jurors when he began confessing to things he now says he didn’t do, “it was survival instinct, to protect my parents mostly,” after Cahill said he’d have to talk to them about the allegations that Williamson had been denying to that point.

A high school teacher has been found guilty of sexually molesting a youth for whom he had acted as a mentor 30 years ago. A jury found Kenneth Gavin Williamson, 58, of Lyn, guilty of buggery, gross indecency and indecent assault. Since Williamson is a first-time offender, a pre-sentence report was ordered by Justice Gary Tranmer. Williamson will return to court March 23.
