Davenport elementary teacher arrested on charge of indecent contact with a child

A Davenport elementary school teacher was arrested Saturday night on a charge of indecent contact with a child, Davenport police said. Julian Lira, 35, was booked into the Scott County Jail at 9:02 p.m. and released at 9:45 p.m. after posting a $2,000 cash bond. The Davenport Community School District website lists Lira as a sixth-grade teacher at Jackson Elementary School. According to the arrest affidavit filed by Davenport Police, Lira inappropriately touched a girl over her clothing during an event at Credit Island Lodge, 2301 W. River Drive.
