A judge said Jon Jungkind, a chemistry teacher, could be released from jail by posting $1,000 bond, but has to stay 10 miles from the school district and community. He cannot return to his house on Fieldstone Meadow Court NE in Nelson Township where the alleged incidents occurred, visiting Kent County District Judge Patrick Bowler said this afternoon. “So, 10 miles beyond the Cedar Springs School District?” Jungkind asked the judge, via video hookup from Kent County Jail. Then, Jungkind said, “Yes, I understand.” Police said Jungkind twice had sex with his student over the summer.
