A Steel Valley School District teacher turned herself in Tuesday on allegations that she "sexted"students by exchanging sexual text messages and nude photos via cellphone ... In May, sources told Channel 4 Action News reporter Ashlie Hardway that Smith, 29, of West Mifflin, was being investigated for sending nude picture messages to the cellphones of Steel Valley High School students. But according to the criminal complaint, Smith sent several nude pictures of herself to five male students, including two that were under the age of 16.

Smith allegedly sent him a text that she, “was thinking about him and missed him and that he looked sexy at baseball practice.” The language grew more explicit, saying she, “wanted to perform oral sex on him after school in her class and have sex with him over her desk.”

The complaint said one student messaged Smith first on Facebook about another teacher's class, and they started talking and joking, with her telling him that he looked cute in school and him replying that she looked sexy, then they texted on the phone. Police said investigators uncovered more than 250 texts between Smith and the student in an 8-day span.Police said the boy sent her a nude picture after she sent several of herself to him. "Smith told John Doe #1 that she wanted to perform oral sex on him after school in her class and she wanted to have sex with him over her desk in her classroom," the complaint said."Sowa Smith asked (another student) to come over her house to have sex and drink together" several times, the complaint said.Another student received nude pictures from Smith, and "he stated that she would say, 'My husband is never home. I am so lonely and haven't had sex forever,'" according to the complaint.

A former teacher in the Steel Valley School District pleaded guilty to having inappropriate contact with several students ... A judge sentenced to Smith to five years probation and ordered her to register as a Megan's Law offender. Smith was also ordered to have no contact with anyone under the age of 18.
