Malden PTO treasurer accused of stealing over $10,000

The former treasurer of the parent-teacher organization for the Forestdale School in Malden has been charged with stealing nearly $11,000 from the school's PTO bank account. Jane P. Marenghi, 48, of Malden, was charged with larceny over $250 by a single scheme late last year after a Malden Police investigation established probable cause that Marenghi had made unauthorized purchases with the PTO debit card. Marenghi faced a judge Wednesday morning in Malden District Court, where a trial date was set for July 20. As part of the discovery process, the prosecution is attempting to obtain records from Facebook as evidence. ...
