    A Sayreville High School teacher has been suspended without pay following her arrest for allegedly sexually assaulting two 16-year-old boys, authorities announced Friday. According to police, Jaclyn P. Melillo, 25, has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child ... The school began investigating before handing the matter over to the police.

    Jaclyn P. Melillo, age 25, of Sayreville was arrested and charged on Thursday, Oct. 10, with two counts of sexual assault, a second-degree offense, and two counts of endangering the welfare of each child, also a second-degree offense ... During the investigation, it was determined that Melillo allegedly sexually assaulted both boys individually on multiple occasions during the summer of 2013. Sayreville High School initiated an investigation and referred the matter to the Sayreville Police Department.

    A teacher [Jaclyn P. Melillo] at War Memorial High School in Sayreville has been charged with sexually assaulting two 16-year-old boys on separate occasions, the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office said today ... Authorities said an investigation began after officials at the high school began looking into the matter and referred what they had to the Sayreville Police Department. An investigation by Sayreville police Detective Lou Becker and county Investigator James Kelly determined Melillo sexual assaulted both boys individually on multiple occasions this summer, according to a news release issued by the prosecutor’s office and Sayreville Police Chief John Zebrowski.

    Jaclyn Melillo, 25, admitted to Superior Court Judge Bradley Ferencz in New Brunswick that she sexually assaulted the boys separately on various occasions in Sayreville—one on various dates between June 1 and July 30, 2013, and the other on various days between May 1, 2013 and Aug. 31, 2013, Middlesex County Acting Prosecutor Andrew Carey said today. Under a plea agreement Melillo reached with Middlesex County Deputy First Assistant Prosecutor Christie Bevacqua, she faces four years in state prison when she is sentenced May 19. Carey said Melillo will forfeit her teaching certificate, will be banned from holding a public job, must register as a Megan’s Law sex offender and will be subjected to parole supervision for life.

    Jaclyn Melillo, 25, of Sayreville, pleaded guilty March 11, admitting that she sexually assaulted the boys separately on various occasions, according to Middlesex County Acting Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey. One boy was sexually assaulted on various dates between June 1, 2013, and July 30, 2013, and the other teenager was sexually assaulted on various days between May 1, 2013, and Aug. 31, 2013, officials said. Under an agreement reached with Middlesex County Deputy First Assistant Prosecutor Christie L. Bevacqua, Melillo will be sentenced to serve four years in a New Jersey state prison. Additionally, Melillo will forfeit her teaching certificate, will be banned from holding a public job, must register as a Megan’s Law sex offender and will be subjected to parole supervision for life. She is scheduled to be sentenced May 19 ...
