Columbia Co. deputy arrested, terminated accused of hitting stepson with clothes hanger

A Columbia County Deputy has been terminated and arrested accused of cruelty to children. Aaron Price, 32, admitted to his wife to spanking his step-son who he said got a bad report from his first grade teacher, according to an incident report filed on Aug. 26. Price and his wife discussed punishment for the child and said a possible spanking. His wife was not concerned when she heard her son cry out because she thought he was just being spanked. Aaron Price, 32, is accused of causing excessive physical and/or mental pain to his 6-year-old stepson. According to a statement from Columbia County Maj. Steve Morris, Price has been terminated from the sheriff’s office. On Thursday, Columbia County Deputy Andrea Price – the child’s mother – stated her son received a negative report from his first-grade teacher.
