Deputies: Seminole County detective arrested for warning suspects about undercover investigation

A Seminole County detective was arrested after investigators say he warned five people they were targets of a child sex sting. The sheriff’s office says Jose Tirado had been a part of the Crimes Against Children Unit for eight years. He’s been suspended since April, and Sheriff Dennis Lemma says steps are being taken to terminate him from the office. Investigators say in late 2022 and early 2023, they were running an undercover operation targeting child sex predators.
