Hanover School District teacher, Fernando Ornelas was arrested on Tuesday by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office after he allegedly sexually assaulted a 13-year-old student. Ornelas works as a teacher at one of the Hanover schools and was reportedly having inappropriate contact with the 13-year-old. The El Paso County Sheriff's Office had been conducting a lengthy investigation on the 65-year-old and officially made their arrest this afternoon. ​

Fernando Ornelas, 65, was arrested after authorities were made aware of an alleged incident on Jan. 19, according to a news release from the sheriff's office ... Ornelas is being held on $25,000 bond, according to the release.​
