According to Sgt. Kenny Parker with the Vallejo Police Department, Felecia Killings, 27, was arrested Tuesday night at Angelo Rodriguez High School in Fairfield. Parker said Killings is accused of one count of having sex with a minor who is more than three years younger than her, and one count of oral copulation with a person under the age of 18.

[Felicia] Killings’s attorney, Thomas Maas, was quick to cast the seven-month relationship as an ongoing act of extortion against Killings by the 16-year-old boy. Maas said the boy had taken classes from Killings in past years and that their friendship became flirtatious but nothing physical until the boy threatened to promote rumors floating around the school that he was having sex with the popular teacher. “He told her if she did not have sex with him he would ruin her career and her life,” Maas said.

Daily Republic (3 Jan 2012): Former teacher pleads no contest in student sex case

Daily Republic said:

A former Rodriguez High School English teacher who was having sex with a 16-year-old male student pleaded no contest Tuesday to a single felony sex charge. Felicia Killings, who had taught at the school for four years before being placed on administrative leave after her arrest, agreed to a plea deal in which she will spend 30 days in an alternative sentencing program that typically includes house arrest on an electronic monitoring program. She will be able to have the felony reduced to a misdemeanor in December if she does not violate terms of her probation.

Felicia Killings pled guilty to a felony charge of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor ... As part of Killings' plea agreement, she will not register as a sex offender. The agreement was reached through the pre-trial process and negotiations, according to Ganz. Killings was sentenced to 30 days in county jail but may qualify to serve alternatively, which often includes house arrest.
