    Teacher arrested in Balloon Fiesta traffic

    According a criminal complaint, Earl Schwers wasn’t listening. Both the Albuquerque Police Department and Bernalillo County sheriff’s deputies were working the areas around the park, and according to the complaint, Schwers was being told by a deputy to turn around near I-25 and Tramway. Instead, he drove straight and his front bumper hit a deputy as officers yelled at him to stop. Another deputy had to jump out of the way, according to the complaint. Schwers didn’t get far; he was found near the Sandia Casino. He faces charges of aggravated assault on a peace officer.​

    Frustrated Rio Rancho man bumps deputy with vehicle

    Bernalillo County Sheriff's deputies say Earl Schwers, 60, bumped a deputy with his vehicle, while the deputy was directing traffic. According to the criminal complaint, the deputy was telling drivers to turn left and Schwers reportedly yelled at the deputy and said he wanted to go straight. When the deputy directed Schwers to turn left, Schwers continued to drive forward and bumped the deputy with his vehicle.     According to his LinkedIn profile, Earl Schwers has previously served as a "volunteer" for the Rio Rancho Police Department. You'd think he'd be wise enough not to behave in such a manner? Apparently not!
