ABC News: Surf School Owner Accused of Snapping Lewd Shots of Young Girls (Aug 18 2013) Dylan Greiner, 38, the owner and operator of Santa Cruz Surf School, was arrested late Friday night after Santa Cruz Police detectives serving a search warrant at his home and business allegedly found videos and photographs of young girls' private parts. According to police, Greiner allegedly befriended young students from his surf school, enticing them with offers of free surf lessons and jobs at the surf school. After gaining their confidence, he allegedly made inappropriate sexual advances toward the girls and also secretly took photographs of them focusing on private body parts, police said. During the search of his home and surf shop, police said they found a collection videos of young girls changing into wetsuits in the dressing rooms at his business. They also found numerous photographs and other video allegedly secretly recorded by Greiner in which he focused on the breasts, buttocks and genitalia of young girls, police said. Police have only identified two of Greiner's alleged victims -- 14 and 13 years old -- but they believe there are many more and are trying to identify them, the police statement said.

The disturbing allegations comes after two teens, aged 13 and 14, told police that Greiner lured them to his surf school before making sexual advances and taking inappropriate pictures of them. "Information shows Mr. Greiner has been pursuing inappropriate relationships with young girls for at least the past 4 years," a report by the Santa Cruz police department reads. "He would coax with them with free surf lessons and/or employment at his business." Among the youngest girls seen in his footage taken on beaches are 8 years old, with his camera focused on their breasts, buttocks and genitalia, according to police.

The 28 counts against Dylan David Greiner also included possession of child porn and sexual exploitation of a child, said prosecutor Rafael Vazquez with the Santa Cruz County District Attorney's Office....Outside court, prosecutors said the case started on Aug. 3 when a 17-year-old girl told police that she had inappropriate sexual contact with Greiner about four times when she was 14 and 15 years old. She was concerned that Greiner might take advantage of another underage girl who lived with her mother and sister as roommates in Greiner's Modesto Avenue house, Vazquez said.

Santa Cruz Patch: Case Against Santa Cruz Surf School Instructor Charged with Molesting Teens Gets Bigger (Aug 22 2013) Santa Cruz Police expanded the charges of lewd acts with a minor against surf school instructor Dylan Greiner Thursday, after finding 500,000 images on his computer including some of girls he was teaching for the Boys and Girls Club. Greiner, who was arrested Friday for sexual contact with two underage girls, is charged with 28 counts of child pornography and sexual exploitation of a minor. The case was started after a 17-year-old girl complained to authorities that she had been victimized by Greiner when she was 14, according to this story in the Sentinel.
