Cumberland Times-News said:

A counselor at Keyser Primary-Middle School was arrested Friday on charges she had sexual relations with three students of the school last summer at her Route 1 residence in Keyser, according to Mineral County Prosecuting Attorney Jay Courrier. Denise Fitch, 41, was charged with three counts of sexual assault of minors under the age of 16. In July, Courrier provided the West Virginia State Police a referral from the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources after Fitch confessed to a local counselor that she had sex with two of the boys. In November, the police received information that she had confessed to a family member as well.

Denise Fitch, 41, of Keyser, was charged with three separate counts of sexual assault in the third degree, which is defined in the state code as a person over the age of 16 who “engages in sexual intercourse or sexual intrusion with another person who is less than 16 years old and who is at least four years younger.” ... According to Magistrate Court records, two of the males were 14 years old and one was 15 at the time of the alleged incidents ... “The defendant confessed to a counselor at Western Maryland Health Systems that she had engaged in vaginal sexual intercourse with two of the three males and also provided oral sex to two of the three males.”

The Mineral County teacher who has been accused of having sex with three juveile boys has waived her right to a preliminary trial in Mineral County Magistrate Court. According to Mineral County Prosecuting Attorney Jay Courrier, Denise Fitch, 41, of Keyser, was scheduled to appear in court last week but waived her right to the hearing. “The next step will be going to grand jury unless they decide to work something different out before then,” Courrier said.

Denise Luann Fitch, 41, of Route 1, Keyser, was officially charged with five counts of sexual assault in the third degree and six counts of sexual abuse by a guardian, custodian, or person in a position of trust, and one misdemanor charge of sexual abuse in the third degree.

The former Mineral County Schools technology specialist accused of sexually assaulting three juvenile boys will be sent away for a psychiatric evaluation before the court decides how to proceed with her case ... Thursday, defense attorney Dan James told Judge Nelson he “felt it necessary to hire a forensic psychologist to evaluate my client,” and had, “without sounding presumptuous,” already made an appointment with a psychiatrist in Morgantown. James also filed a motion for cost reimbursement with the court, noting that Fitch had no money to pay for the evaluation.

Denise Fitch, 41, of Keyser, faces possible imprisonment of one to five years for each of the three counts ...
