Police: Stamford Teacher Had Sexual Relationship With Student

Danielle Watkins, 32, of Norwalk, turned herself in Thursday morning, police said. She was charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault, two counts of sale of marijuana and one count of risk of injury to a minor. According to police, Watkins had a sexual relationship with an 18-year-old student from September 2013 until June 2014. The victim told officers that the two had numerous sexual encounters in her vehicle during school hours, and that the car was parked off of school grounds, police said. Watkins also sent naked pictures of herself to the student's phone, police said.

The victim said that, at one point, he attempted to break off the relationship, but Watkins assaulted him and accused him of being with someone else, police said. "Watkins then used her position as a teacher to threaten to fail the victim if the encounters did not continue," police said in a press release.​

Female Stamford English Teacher Charged With Sex Assault Of Male Student

Danielle Watkins, 32, of 11 Fort Point St., was charged with two counts of sexual assault and one count of selling marijuana in connection with the case involving the 18-year-old, police said. She is also charged with selling marijuana and risk of injury to a child after she provided marijuana to a 15-year-old student, police said.

Police said the the investigation began June 23 after the 18-year-old told a counselor, who notified the Department of Children and Families and the Stamford Board of Education. The teen provided police with a statement on June 23 saying he had had a sexual relationship with the teacher throughout the school year, from September 2013 to June 2014, police said.


The sexual encounters occurred in her vehicle during school hours but not on school grounds, police said. She also sent sexually explicit text messages to him and allowed him to use her car even though he didn't have a driver's license, police said. The teen tried to break off the relationship but Watkins assaulted him, police said, accusing him of seeing someone else and threatening to fail him if he didn't continue their relationship. ​

Danielle Watkins, 32, of Norwalk, allegedly had sex with the 18-year-old male numerous times in her car during school hours, off school property from September 2013 until June 2014, according to the Stamford Police Department. At one point the victim tried to end the sexual encounters but Watkins attacked him and accused him of being with someone else, he said. Teacher Threatened to Fail Student Who Tried to Stop Sexual Relationship: Police

Stamford, Connecticut, police have arrested a Stamford High School English teacher who is accused of having a sexual relationship with an 18-year-old student and then threatening to fail him when he tried to break off the relationship. The teacher, Danielle Watkins, 32, of Norwalk, is on administrative leave, according to the high school. Police said she is a married mother of two.


On June, 23, the Stamford Police Department Special Investigations Unit learned that Watkins might have been involved in an inappropriate relationship with one of her students and started investigating. Three days later, the student went to the police department and told authorities that he’d had several sexual encounters with his English teacher from September 2013 until June 2014. They took place in her car during school hours, but off school grounds, according to police.

The teen also told police Watkins sent naked messages of herself and allowed him to use her car even though she knew he didn’t have a license, police said. In additional to the sexual allegations, Watkins supplied the teen and a friend with marijuana, which they smoked both on and off the school grounds during school hours, according to police.​

Danielle Watkins, a 32- year old high school teacher from Stamford, Connecticut has been arrested on Thursday with two arrest warrants. Watkins has been having sexual relation with one of her students through out the year, and threatened to fail the student once he wanted these relations to stop.


Watkins was allegedly having sex with her 18 year old student in her car, and off school grounds from September 2013- June 2014. Along with having sex with the student, she has sent him nude pictures of herself. She provided marijuana for the male student along with a 15-year-old friend of his who was also a student of Watkins’. Watkins, and the two students would also smoke weed together off school property multiple properties.


After the student tried to end relations with Watkins, she accused the student of being with someone else, and also attacked him. Due to this, the student waited until the end of the year to tell a counselor who then went to the Connecticut Department of Children and Families and also the Board of Education.​

Police say the teenager told police he engaged in numerous sexual encounters with 32-year-old Danielle Watkins between last September and last month , in her car during school hours, but off school grounds. He said she provided marijuana to him and a 15-year-old friend, and that she sent naked text messages and allowed him to use her car, though he did not have a license.


The teenager told police that Watkins one point assaulted him when he tried to break off the relationship and threatened to fail him.


Police searching with a warrant found marijuana in her car and found more than two thousand text messages and hundreds of calls between the student and teacher, as well as evidence of the naked text messages.​

An English teacher and married mom of two in Stamford, Connecticut, had sex and smoked pot with an 18-year-old student during an eight-month affair — then told the boy she would flunk him if he broke off the relationship.
