    Shelton settles lawsuit with woman whose domestic assault complaint resulted in city firing 3 cops

    The city of Shelton has agreed to pay a settlement to an Ansonia woman who claimed in a federal civil rights lawsuit that Shelton police officers responded to a complaint she was being beaten and sexually assaulted by a former Bridgeport police officer but then walked away. The woman, whose name is not being disclosed, had sued former Bridgeport police officer Steven Figueroa, the city of Shelton, Shelton Mayor Mark Lauretti, Shelton Police Chief Shawn Sequeira and officers Michael McClain and John Napoleone in U.S. District Court in Bridgeport. “Defendants city officials and defendant police officers have an affirmative duty ...
