Martinelli would have been 38 at the time. Martinelli allegedly had inappropriate sexual contact and communication with the victim through cell phone conversations, text messaging, emails and online social media including Facebook. The victim said Martinelli invited him over on two occasions during that summer and they had sexual contact in Martinelli's bedroom, according to the affidavit. Martinelli continued to contact the victim, and gave him Valentine's Day cards, according to the police. The affidavit states the victim's mother made a report in February 2012 that she found text messages relating to a sexual relationship with a male named “Chris.”

While inside police found evidence that makes them believe there are more victims. Police believe Martinelli had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old male student in the summer of 2011 at Martinelli’s home. The student, who is now 17, came forward this week and told police this: Martinelli was his eight grade social studies teacher. The sexual relationship started two years later when the teen was in tenth grade at Pocono Mountain West High School. Martinelli would text him and contact him on Facebook. The teacher then invited the 17 year old over to his house twice during the summer of 2011. Then in February of 2012, Martinelli gave the teen Valentine’s Day cards. Police arrested Martinelli at his home about 12 hours after Pocono Mountain School District officials contacted them about a suspicious incident that took place between Martinelli and a student.

She allegedly discovered inappropriate text messages between the teacher and teen. Then, on Wednesday, something happened at Pocono Mountain West High School that concerned the staff. They reported it to police. Chief Lewis would not explain exactly what happened but he said the incident wasn't criminal. Citizens Voice: Teacher charged with having sex with 15-year-old boy (Mar 7 2013) Christopher Martinelli, 40, 1193 Arbutus Drive, a teacher at Pocono Mountain West High School was charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of minors. The allegations about the sexual relationship were made known to the school district Tuesday, and police were immediately contacted. They interviewed the boy, now 17, the same day. The Citizens' Voice does not identify victims of sexual assault. Police served a search warrant on Martinelli's residence where they seized numerous items for evidence.
