Montgomery News: Hatboro woman, teacher sentenced in child corruption case (Oct 2 2013) “It would be a travesty of justice if you didn’t see the inside of an institution for a while,” Montgomery County President Judge William J. Furber Jr. told Cheryl Bremble as he sentenced her to 30 days to 23 months in the county jail for sending a female student sexually explicit text messages and giving her a sex toy on school property. “This is a troublesome matter. I recognize this is every parent’s nightmare.” A divorced mother of two, Bremble, 43, formerly of Hatboro and most recently of Ambler, can serve her minimum sentence over the course of 15 consecutive weekends beginning Oct. 11, the judge said. The judge also ordered Bremble to complete five years’ probation after she’s paroled from jail, meaning she’ll be under court supervision for about seven years. Bremble, who pleaded guilty to a felony charge of dissemination of obscene and other sexual materials to a minor and a misdemeanor charge of corruption of a minor in connection with incidents that occurred between October 2010 and May 2011, said nothing as she left court, sheltered by relatives and friends from the glare of the media. In court, Bremble, claiming she was in a bad “emotional state” in 2011, appeared to make excuses for her conduct by implying she was overworked, abusing alcohol, in a bad relationship with a boyfriend, in a custody battle with her ex-husband and dealing with medical problems at that time. Confronted in court with the sexually charged text messages she sent the teenage girl, Bremble didn’t deny she wrote them but claimed she couldn’t recall some of them. “You need to take responsibility for everything that occurred here. It’s not anybody’s fault but yours,” Furber scolded Bremble.
