    Special education teacher in Mt. Morris CSD arrested under "Leandra's Law"

    Sheriff’s deputies in Livingston County say 48-year-old Carolyn Garger of Avon was driving drunk on Thursday with three children in the car when she hit another vehicle and ran from the scene.

    According to deputies, Garger’s vehicle was heading east on Route 20A toward Livonia from Geneseo when she struck the other vehicle and drove away. We’re told they found Garger’s car in a ditch farther down the road. Deputies she had a BAC of .19% and was driving with three children under the age of 15 in the vehicle with her. Luckily, no one was injured.

    Mt. Morris Special Education Teacher Charged Under Leandra's Law

    The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office arrested [Carolyn] Garger on felony charges of driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI and Leandra’s Law violations. She’s additionally charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and more. Deputies found her car in a ditch after she allegedly tried to flee a two-car accident in Geneseo on Route 20A yesterday.

    Mt. Morris CSD teacher arrested under "Leandra's Law"

    The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office says they arrested Carolyn Garger after she hit a car and then crashed into a ditch. The children in her car were under 15-years-old. Because of that, she is charged with a felony under Leandra’s Law. The sheriff’s office says Garger hit another car on Route 20A, just outside the village of Geneseo and then ended up in the ditch a little further east. The three kids in her car were her children. The oldest is in eighth grade.
