Broward teacher wrongly fired, judge rules A Broward County teacher fired for allowing her daughter to be beaten with an extension cord may get her job back. An administrative law judge ruled this week that while Serena Jones' actions are "inconsistent with the standards of public conscience and good morals," they don't warrant her losing her job. The School Board fired Jones, a language arts teacher at Driftwood Middle in Hollywood, in January 2012 for immorality and moral turpitude due to her 2011 arrest on child neglect charges.
