    Brooke N Hesson, math teacher & cheerleading coach at Marcos de Niza High School, Tempe Union High School District, Tempe, Arizona, "allegations she slept with a male student"

    Apparently Arizona is one of the few states where sleeping with a public school student is not yet illegal (assuming the student has reached the age of consent), so suspension (administrative leave) and perhaps dismissal are the likely extent of her punishment.

    Married math teacher and cheerleading coach who 'had sex with student' won't be charged because he was 18 at the time

    • Local authorities say they won't charge the married teacher since the student was 18 at the time and consented
    A high school math teacher and cheerleading coach has been placed on administrative leave while an Arizona school district investigates allegations she slept with a male student. However, the Tempe Police Department says they will not bring up charges against teacher Brooke Hesson, because the student was 18 at the time and issued consent ... 'We're still investigating to make sure there was no inappropriate conduct prior to him being 18 and there were no other students involved that were under 18,' he added. Hesson is married and has been working at Marcos de Niza High School since 2010. School administrators found out about the allegations after receiving a student tip, Sgt Pooley said.​

    Tempe teacher suspected of misconduct with student

    Brooke Hesson, who has been at Marcos de Niza since 2010, was investigated initially by the Tempe Police Department, on Friday, Oct. 17 on allegations of sexual conduct between a student and teacher. School administrators found out through a student tip, according to Sgt. Mike Pooley of the Tempe Police Department. "Because he's 18 (and) everything was consensual, there's no crime and we're not pursuing any charges," Pooley told The Arizona Republic. "We're still investigating to make sure there was no inappropriate conduct prior to him being 18 and there were no other students involved that were under 18." However, TUHSD, conducting its own investigation, immediately placed Hesson on leave on Oct. 17.​

    EXCLUSIVE: Tempe teacher accused of inappropriate behavior with student

    A married teacher from Marcos de Niza High School in Tempe is accused of behaving inappropriately with a student. Math teacher and Varsity Cheer coach, Brooke Hesson, has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation for allegations of misconduct. Tempe Police Department confirmed to KTAR they have conducted an investigation into allegations of activity that is sexual in nature between Hesson and a student. ​

    Tempe teacher Brooke Hesson accused of having sex with a student

    A Tempe Marcos de Niza High School teacher is on administrative leave after being accused of having sex with an 18-year-old male student. Tempe Union High School District officials placed Brooke Hesson on administrative leave and the school's principal sent a letter home to parents.​
