Amy Nowaczyk, 25, is also accused of Electronic Enticement Under 16 years-of-age. On Thursday, April 5, the Omaha Police Department's Special Victims Unit became aware of an allegation regarding sexual contact between a student and teacher at Morton Middle school. “ During the investigation, detectives learned the teacher, Nowaczyk, had been placed on administrative leave after school officials were advised she had allegedly sent an inappropriate picture to the victim/student and the two had engaged in a sexual act. Detectives located Nowaczyk and she was booked at Douglas County Corrections. If found guilty, Nowaczyk could face from 20 years to life in prison. ” School's letter to parents: Dear Parents and Guardians: We want you to know that we were recently made aware of a report of alleged inappropriate contact between a teacher here at Morton Magnet Middle School and a student who attends Morton. The Omaha Police Department has arrested the teacher and is conducting a full investigation. The teacher has been placed on administrative leave, pending the results of the investigation and we are actively cooperating with our partners in local law enforcement. While we cannot comment on personnel or student issues specifically, we wanted to share with you that we are taking these allegations very seriously. It is our practice to report any allegation of inappropriate contact with a student, regardless of whether it involves staff, fellow students, parents or community members. We report information to local law enforcement and to Child Protective Services. We also believe it is critically important to continue to work with the student and their family to do all we can to ensure their well-being. She also has been charged with enticement by an electronic device. Nowaczyk, who was hired as a social studies teacher at Morton in August 2015, was placed on administrative leave after officials learned she was accused of sending an inappropriate photo to the student and the two had engaged in a sexual act. “ Prosecutor Desiree Stormont said Friday that Nowaczyk and the boy exchanged messages through Omaha Public Schools email, texts and via Snapchat. The 13-year-old boy told investigators on Thursday that he received a photo from Nowaczyk months ago that showed her bare breasts and a watch that she consistently wears. The boy said the sexual contacts occurred between Aug. 24 and Thursday inside a classroom. ” Nowaczyk’s attorney, James Schaefer, said his client has no prior record.
