Madison teacher placed under arrest

A Madison teacher, who was under investigation for having a sexual relationship with a

student, was arrested Thursday. Police say that 37-year-old Allison Marchese, a teacher at Daniel Hand High School, turned herself in at Madison police headquarters late Wednesday night, just before midnight. She is charged with sexual assault as well as risk of injury or impairing the morals of a child.

The arrest stems from an investigation that began on January 7th at the high school. Rumors started circulating that a teacher had had an inappropriate sexual relationship with a student. After investigating for almost five weeks, police were able to get all of the information they needed; including talking to people at the school, reviewing phone records, and locating some inappropriate pictures that were exchanged between the teacher and the student.​

Husband of Madison Teacher Accused of Sexual Assault Charged Last Month

Now on Friday, news surfaced that Marchese’s husband, Robert, 39, who is also a Daniel Hand High School English and language arts teacher, had been charged in an incident on Jan. 31 in Madison, WTNH News 8 reports.

Robert Marchese was charged with disorderly conduct and interfering with an emergency call, News 8 reports. He was released after posting $1,000 bond and is due to appear in Superior Court, New Haven on Feb. 25.

Police have declined to elaborate on the reasons why Robert Marchese was arrested, though court records state Allison Marchese is planning to move out of the couples house and Robert Marchese would remain there with the children, News 8 reports.​

Madison teacher to face a judge for allegedly sexually assaulting a student

A Madison teacher charged with sexually assaulting a minor appeared in New Haven court Tuesday. Allison Marchese, 37, pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual assault and risk of injury or impairing the morals of a minor. Madison Teacher Pleads Not Guilty To Sex Assault Charges

But by Thanksgiving 2014, according to the affidavit, the teen started getting Instagram messages that he described as "weird" to police. There were winking, smiling emoticons, flirtations, sexual hints and a "selfie" of Marchese "dressed in only thong style underwear with her breast covered and her midriff exposed." One message said that the teacher "would do anything he told her to so as long as he was going to talk to her," the affidavit said.

And then in December 2014, the affidavit said, Marchese messaged the teen through Instagram to come to her classroom. The teen told the teacher in the classroom he was in at the time that he had to use the bathroom and went to Room 347. "Once in the room, they got into each other's personal space and started to 'hook up' which he described as kissing each other and she then started touching him 'downtown,'" the affidavit said. Fearing it was "not safe," Marchese "locked the classroom door and closed the blinds." She then "performed oral sex on him," the affidavit said.

In addition to the 17-year-old, Madison police investigators also interviewed a 15-year-old student who told police that he had a relationship with Marchese that began when he was 14 and that the two communicated through Instagram. At one point, Marchese "became very forward and wrote things such as she could not concentrate during class because he was so good-looking and she could not sleep at night because she was thinking about him," the affidavit said. According to the affidavit, the 15-year-old student told police that as a freshman at the high school, he had a normal teacher-student relationship with Marchese. But as the school year progressed, she would "call him out of his free periods and/or lunch period to come to her room and talk with her."


The Instagram messaging continued in summer 2014 after the school year ended. The younger teen said that Marchese messaged him "nonstop" the first week of summer vacation, including long messages expressing her feelings toward him and trying to make him feel bad for not responding, the affidavit said. He told police that he asked Marchese to stop and that she did until two days before the start of the current school year. In that message, she reportedly told him that he "broke her heart and betrayed her." The next day she apologized to him and said that she was drunk when she sent the message, according to the affidavit.​
