Hattiesburg American: Ex-educator pleads guilty in sex crime case: Topp to serve at least 2 years for touching for lustful purposes (May 8 2013) Wesley Craig Topp, 28, entered his plea of guilty Monday in Forrest County Circuit Court. Specially appointed judge William F. Coleman sentenced him to 15 years in Department of Corrections’ custody with two to serve in prison and the remainder suspended on the successful completion of five years’ probation. Topp is now also required to register as a sex offender. During the next 15 years, contact, attempted contact or coming within 500 yards of the victims of either crime Topp was charged with, or any of their family members, will constitute a violation of the suspended sentence and land Topp in prison for the remainder, according to the order of conviction. He must also pay a $2,500 fine and a $100 special assessment to the Mississippi Crime Victims Compensation Fund.
