Teacher at Adams County Christian School in Natchez arrested

Police became aware of the incident after the mother of the alleged victim, who was 17 years old at the time of the incident, reported her daughter had inappropriate text messages on her iPhone with a teacher at the school named Stephanie Adams. Her bond was set at $25,000.

Natchez teacher arrested on sex charge

Stephanie Adams, 39, was arrested Monday and charged with one count of gratification of lust with a minor, police said. Police said the mother of a 17-year-old girl contacted them after finding several inappropriate text messages on her daughter's iPhone. The texts were between Adams and the teen, who is a student at the school and has since turned 18, police said. After investigators spoke to Adams, the teenager and a witness, an arrest warrant was issued, authorities said.

Former ACCS teacher arrested following relationship with student

Natchez Police Department Detective Jerry Ford said investigators began looking into the relationship after the 17-year-old student’s parents read an exchange of text messages between their child and Adams. “We interviewed the student, talked to some other witnesses and confirmed that the teacher and the student had been involved in a dating relationship,” Ford said. “Apparently, the teacher had been involved in some inappropriate misconduct with the student.”

Teacher Accused of Having Relationship with Minor Waives Hearing

The former Natchez teacher accused of having a relationship with a minor has waived her right to have a preliminary hearing. Stephanie Adams was charged with one count of gratification of lust of a minor. Adams was allegedly texting a female student inappropriately when the student’s parent discovered the text messages and contacted police. After investigating the text messages and speaking to the student and several witnesses, investigators believe the teacher and student were in a dating relationship involving inappropriate conduct that led to the teacher being charged.
