Denver Post: Former DougCo teacher suspected of sex assault of student (Nov 14 2012) A former Douglas County teacher has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a student. Richard "Rick" Johnson, 31, of Englewood, faces multiple felony charges including sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust and sexual exploitation of a child, according to a Douglas County Sheriff's Office media release. Johnson taught eighth grade at Rocky Heights Middle School and was a basketball coach at Rock Canyon High School. Both schools are in Highlands Ranch. Johnson left the school district in March of 2012 and is currently not teaching. The sheriff's office began an investigation into the allegations in June of 2012.
