WJOL: Plainfield North Teacher Arrested on Child Porn Charges (July 12 2013)

A 26 year old Plainfield North High School teacher and coach has been charged in Cook County with two counts of possession of child pornagraphy. A search warrant was served at the home of Max Estes, in the 600 block of North Bishop Street in Chicago, and he was immediately arrested.​

Former Suburban Teacher And Coach Sentenced To Prison For Child Pornography Conviction
A former suburban teacher and wrestling coach has pled guilty to downloading child pornography on his computer and has been sentenced to six years in prison, according to the office of Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez.
Max Estes, 27, of Chicago, pled guilty to the Class X felony charge of Dissemination of Aggravated Child Pornography.
At the time of his arrest, the defendant worked as a teacher and wrestling coach at Plainfield High School.
He has since resigned.
According to prosecutors, Estes was arrested and charged in 2013 after an investigation by members of the Cook County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force revealed that he had been searching for and downloading child pornography.
During the investigation, authorities were able to successfully download videos from Estes’ computer involving a child under the age of 13 depicted in acts of sexual penetration, including sadistic abuse.
According to prosecutors, the Chicago Police Department executed a search warrant at the defendant’s residence and recovered a laptop computer.
A forensic examination of the laptop revealed evidence of downloaded child pornography files of both videos and still images.
Cook County Judge Jorge Alonso sentenced Estes to the six year prison term after he pled guilty during a hearing at the Leighton Criminal Courts Building.
As a result of this conviction, Estes must register as a sex offender for life following his release from prison.
State’s Attorney Alvarez thanked Assistant State’s Attorney Elizabeth Ciaccia of the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Division as well as the Chicago Police Department for their work on this case.
